Surrounded by greenery and quiet, a stone's throw from Lugano, in a fairytale setting.

 

Inticino with the collaboration of Yoging Giulia and the Bigorio Convent offers you a special series of two retreats in the historic Bigorio Convent, still inhabited today by three Capuchin Friars.

 

Known for being a meeting point of energy flows for centuries, the Convento del Bigorio is perfectly suited for a yoga retreat in the summer. The practices will take place in the ancient and sunny garden of the sixteenth-century stone building, in the shade of olive trees that recall the Tuscan landscapes, with a breathtaking view over the whole Lugano area. The evening sessions or those during the day (in case of bad weather) will take place in the energy chapel renovated by a young Mario Botta.

 

With great respect for the place and for the practice, we will move in harmony with nature. A yoga weekend that will give you strong emotions and will make you discover a hidden corner of paradise in the splendid Capriasca! The Convent is a sacred and private place, accessible only through participation in special events.

 

The practice is open at all levels and provides for a maximum of 12 participants. The kitchen of the convent will offer menus of all kinds, depending on the diets followed by the participants. There will be proposals for vegetarian or vegan meals. Depending on the season, the kitchen of the convent uses fresh products coming directly from the Convent's garden.

 

The retreats will be carried out in full compliance with the regulations in force.

THE CONVENT

Founded in 1535, it is the first convent of Capuchin friars in Switzerland and for centuries it has enjoyed the reputation of a spiritual place with a particular energy charge. A meeting place for meditation enthusiasts, the convent is often chosen for the organization of symposia and conferences thanks to the tranquility of the place. In particular, it has hosted the extra muros session of the Federal Council in 1998. With its terraces and vegetable gardens, the Convent is located on Mount Bigorio in Capriasca and enjoys an unmissable view over the whole Lugano area. The current building dates back to the 1767 expansion and, although slightly renovated by a young Mario Botta, is still as admirable as it was then.

 

INSTRUCTOR

Giulia Panzeri has an intimate and welcoming studio in Corso Elvezia in Lugano, an oasis of peace in the midst of the city bustle, where she teaches Vinyasa, Yin and prenatal yoga. Its practices are based on listening to one's body and awareness of one's breath. Giulia sees and experiences Yoga as a gradual, inevitable and liberating return home to oneself.

In this way we will be able to discreetly inform your instructor who will adapt the exercises for the individual participant.
